first off i would like to thank the people on this forum because your supportive of all owners even us sohc guys. so here's the story...my friend's mom has a 03 trailblazer that is a pretty quick truck. he uses it all the time and tells me how he has smoked a lot of cars. now for about a year ive heard how it will be me in a 1/4. so finally the other night he was talkin some shit....so i said f-it lets go.....i showed him my balding front passenger tire and he claimed i was already makin excuses. i was trying to point out that im not going to get any kind of decent launch with it. and the fact that im a dumbass for racing on it. but bald tire or not i had to show him he was wrong. so we drop off some one to judge who wins (he thought it would be that close) we turn around and go prolly a lil more than a 1/4 mile. turn around again...and line up. i told him on 3....so i tach up....1 2 3....i spin like crazy and he murders me off the launch. prolly had a full car....by the end of first i pulled even.....2nd i pulled a car...3rd he stopped the pull and maybe even gained a very small amount. so i won the marked race....but we kept going till about 100 maybe 110. i put another car on em. we raced 2 more times and it only got worse. if i got a good launch he woulda been toast from the start. so i post this story on 3si in war stories....with the title "shut up some long time $h!t talkin" i obviously wasnt bragging about beating a trailblazer cuz its pretty sad i only beat him by 1-2 cars. they called BS on me....WTF!!!! then continued to flame me. ive learned an insane amount about these cars from 3si. but some of the people on there are just total douche bags. so i decided that im staying out of most of the forums on there other than fwd and the north east forum. 3si-r and af will be my new forum of choice for off topic and war story threads. u guys have shown me nothing but respect here and im very thankful. if ya wanna check out the thread http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=229463
3si is getting on my nerves....and they never even sent me my 3si sticker!!!!! alan if you read this....can i have my sticker please!?! lol

Heh sory to hear about the flame broiling you got over there, I chose not to go the 3si route since I like it here and this is more "cozy" than a big board like that. I don't think many people know what a SOHC can do, I know I have no idea but it's a shame they didn't make all 3Ss 200+ bhp.

i hear ya....i learned a lot of 3si and if i knew 3 years ago before i got my stealth what i know now....i would atleast got a dohc. but i have a sohc. there are a few less mods and parts for sohc's. they dont gain as much from the same mods. but....i have 8.9:1 compression where as the dohc has 10:1 compression. wich should make it easier to safely boost more when i put a turbo on. basically the sohc has 1 advantage.....im just trying to exploit it lol btw i got flamed for posting about my single turbo project and a possible kit. guess helping out other sohc owners is a bad thing over there....

I don't mind the kill story at all, but there will be no 3si bashing or complaints about the membership here. I don't want a pissing match between members of the boards (since almost all of us are on there as well).
As for asking Alan for your sticker - use the PM system (and ask him where mine is as well :p)
So from this point forward, please keep the comments related to the kill
Which, btw, was a good job on inferior tires :iceslolan

Jeeze bro, they can be really touchy on 3SI. I dont go there unless its a really technical question. But yeah man those guys might know thier stuff but they can also forget that there was a point in thier lives that they didnt know jack about cars either.

I dont think you are bashing 3si, if it sounded like bashing I would of warned you against it. Yogs is just trying to keep everything clean. but no man if they had flamed me like that I would of come on here and ....well lets just say I would of been banned. every one gets to go and post thier kill stories, some stories are real pointless but everyone has a right to speak out.
Hey on another subject, I notice you have a bomber kit. Is it the full kit? I wanna get one but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea. have you had any problems with it? It looks amazing. my wife saw it and was like "WOW, that stealth looks sexy, does that kit fit your car?"
so now my interest is peaked again. she wants to get it for me for christmas but I wonder if it would be a pain to get it installed.

yeah its the bomex bomber kit. its the full kit...looks like u have a 3000gt so u wont need the door caps to match the skirts. i do like it but there are things i dont like. first off....the fitment is not very good. it takes a lot of mods to get it to fit and look good. the other thing is...if u want to lower your car....dont get it. im at stock height. that corner right infront of the front wheels is about 3 inches off the ground. i scrape the front bumper almost daily. if u want to lower your car i suggest u dont get the kit. here is my advice....buy the kit on ebay for $300-400...yes u can find em that cheap. put on the skirts and rear bumper and sell the front bumper....i know i know u like the front bumper. but u can find another one that looks good and doesnt sit as low. i was thinkin about the 99 conversion. but its a lil pricey. i may go with another stock 3000gt front end. thats just my 2 cents.

Thanks Slade, she is a good woman! hey thanks for the info white93stealth, btw you know the plastic guard that goes under the front of our cars. did you have to get rid of that? or does the front bumper allow you to re-instal it?

Quick 3si comments.
1) Eric does stickers post in the membership forum.
2) I'm trying to work on the flaming.
On to your war story.
You -SOHC 3S
HP - 164
weight - 3100(apriox)
0-60 - 8 sec(aporox)
1/4 - 17sec
Him - 03 trailblazer
hp 275-290 engine dependant
weight - 4500
0-60 - 9
1/4 - 17
based on the numbers this should be a close race. With you claiming bad tires its easy to see why some might doubt your story.
But, Does some thinthe opinion of a faceless person on an internet forum really matter?
