Ticking/clicking noise help?

I've got a 91 civic SI, just recently did a some engine work, ring job and some work with the head (valves I guess).

Anyways, whenever I press on the accelerator I can hear a slight clicking or ticking sound, the sound gets louder the more I press on it. Now I know it could be something to do with the distributor but thats all brand new done by the dealership. Anyone got some ideas? Would the timing being off a bit have anything to do with it?

my old 86 accord did that exact thing you descibed to me once. Sounded like the valves were ticking almost like a clock. The oil in it was really old and so I changed the oil and it stopped doing it ;;shrugs;;

May be your dist. to advanced will cause a ticking sound other wise heard as a ping. Also being off one tooth on the timing belt can cause that too. If you just did your valves about 300 miles adjust them again.

hey, what octane/fuel are you running in your setup?

I'm just using regular...not sure what octane it is. I'm pretty sure the belts are fine, but I might re-check the valves. I'll try to do that after work today or tomorrow and see if it fixes it.
