Still got a Hummingnoise while driving at 50-60mph???

Hey guys....

Awhile ago I had my fixed at a body shop and when I got it back it was making this constant humming noise at 60mph. Someone said to check to see if they put a weight back on the rim... well sure enough they didn't. So I took the wheel off and took it to Wal-Mart today (which I think might have been my mistake) and when I got it back and put it back on the car the damn thing is worse then ever. Now instead of a constant humming at exactly 60mph I am getting a Woom.....Woom.....Woom.....sound at around 50mph? I don't get it? I noticed a couple of days ago my brakes felt a little weak so I'm check to see if I need pads tomorrow.. but man this sucks! Should I just take the whole car to Topline and have them balance all the wheels or what?

Yeah, take it somewhere to get em' balanced, like Tires Plus or Midas or something. Wal-Mart? Wal-Mart does vehicle stuff? Weird, mine doesn't.

Yeah just the "Supercenters" though... I should of known better! I changed the brake pads today and noticed a big problem. The boot on the CV joint is ripped and there is freaking grease everywhere! I would imagine that this could be part of the problem. I probably screwed the bearings up in there right? Gotta go get it fixed regardless.... Do you think that would also cause rough braking? I don't know... I do know that the rotors I have on there are the originals, but taking those things off.. forget about it! Might as well do the CV joints myslef too.... looks like a pain in the ass in my Helms!?!?!?!

Split boot doean't necessarily mean a wrecked bearing. I've always paid a shop to do axle repairs for me, and they always want to replace the axle when I find a split boot. But the CVs aren't a problem until they make a noise, so I've always (successfully) told them to replace the boot alone.

Back you your original problem (I assume "tire" is the missing word from your post "...I had my fixed ..." ??). The woom, woom indicates a tread problem. Either they did a lousy repair (what DID they do?) or they should never have repaired the tire (?) at all because it was too badly damaged. Id say it's time for new tire(s).
Your braking problem is probably unrelated to the other things.

first of all you should have taken your car back to the body shop and told them what happed and complained. then you wouldnt have to take it anywhere else

Turned out to be bad tires! I raised the car back up, put back the stock wheels and tires, and replaced both CV joints in that order. Sound stopped after the wheels were put back on.
