short ram?

hi everybody, i'm kinda confused and i ned some help, i got one of those intakes from e-bay, u know the cheapo kind, it says it's suppossed to fit an eclipse 92, NON TURBO, mine is a non turbo, but the mass air sensor or something like that has to be connected to the stock intake in order for my car to work good, since it's suppossed to meassure the air coming to the engine, , i tried to install my new short ram intake, i had to take off the stock pipping and al this shit, but it sucks, i think they cheat me, anyone in here has one of those on their 89-94 eclipse NT? anything would help,

I am confused does the pipe not fit? does it have a place for the MAS?

well the pipes fits and everything, but the problem is that it came with the performance filter, the 3" one, but if the mass is not connected to the stock intake the rpm's go up and down, and there aint no place for the mass, only for the filter, so i don't know what to do, i tried to disconect the harness, but it give's me the check engine light,

Drill a hole for it IMO

i wanted to get on of those short ram things to, if i drill, what do i do next, just stick the sensor in there? what should i use to keep it there? is there anyone that can give me a full list of instructions?

Drill a hole and take like a rubber tube stick it in there and hook it up to the other end on the valve cover the valve cover is already connected actually do this drill a hole stick like somekind of straw thing so it sticks out about half an inch out of the pipe then stick the rubber tube over that straw like thing and clamp it down.

oh yeah, those things kill the MAF...custom make your own hole like everyone is saying. $23? What do ya expect?! lol.

he has a 1g which has a big huge sensor inside the filter bracket not like the 2gs which appartantly have a small inline sensor. just mount your current filter housing on the end of the hardpipe. and put an oval k&n on the end if you want hack the aircan to have a open filter. id leave it sealed then you gwet air from the front bumper instead of the engine compartment but whatever.

I got the same prob and i still havent found out what to do with it.

hey now those ebay intakes work some of the time.. mine did at least.. but i got a 2g.. yeah oh and that nice blue rubber piece that connects the pipe to your tb gets nice a faded and very ugly aft 2k miles hahahah.. anyhow yeah id tap a hole it in.. and jb weld somthin in there to connect it up... be creative.. peace
