How do you tell the difference from a ZC and an Si engine??
the block of my new motor has ZC printed on it with some numbers and whatnot.

are they imprinted in the steel. or just written on the head? If its imprinted and says ZC, then its a ZC, and i'm pretty sure an Si engine would come as a D series

Also, ZC is DOHC and Si is SOHC

:werd: My car originally came with an Si motor which was the d16a6 and when that blew I replaced it with the SOHC ZC which is almost the same motor, but supposably has like 10hp more.

I have a SOHC ZC. or could it be a ZC block with Si Head?

never got the point in zc, not enough of a power gain for the money/trouble

Only reason I got a sohc zc was because my motor blew and we were going to get an a6 but we found a sohc zc for cheaper...thats why I got one. Also it could be a hell of a step up if you have a hf crx or somethin.
