turn signal lights wont stop blinking!!!help!!

my turn signal lights suddenly started blinking and they wont stop until i shut off the engine. Started again and they are off but as soon as i try to use them again they will get stuck again and the non-stop blinking appears again. I got home and shut off the car ...when inside and when i came back out the lights are blinking again even when the car wasnt even running nor the key was in the switch. i dont know what could it be so i ask for help please!!!
