I have a 2k1 2.2L AT cavi and I recently got a taste of a manual. Needless to say I would like to find out how, if possible, to convert my tranny to a standard and how much it would cost both if done by my self and if done by a mechanic. Thanks in advance.

im thinking it would be easier to buy a cavy with an manual tranny in it already cuz the cost of someone putting one it will be spendy...i had a tranny put back in one of my trucks with a clutch..and it was 1500 dollars to do so..what was including all parts and time. So i would say just get like a newer cav..possibly the z24 with a 5 speed and the v6..trust me u will have more fun with a v6 comparded to that 4 cyclinder u have now.

swapping a manual and auto is too much work to be worth doing. If you really want a stick, sell your car and buy one with a stick. I thought about doing this swap on a 91 convertible, and I had a complete donor car, but it's not worth it. It requires manual trans pedals, console, shifter, wiring harness, ecm, vss, etc.
