Misaligned power window

The driver's side power window on my '91 has gotten out of alignment -- I have tinted windows and when the window is closed, I can see about 1/4" of untinted glass in the upper left hand corner of the window where the tint film ends, and when I'm driving at highway speeds the window whistles (fortunately it doesn't leak water). The window has also been getting slower and slower and the motor sounds like it's straining to get the job done. When it's been raining or I washed the car recently, the window chatters on the way up and down. Would all these things go away if I opened up the door panel and lubed the window tracks?
