I am looking to buy a 2000 Wrangler SE with the 2.5 and a 5-speed. I also want to buy a security system for it. Does anyone know how difficult this is and where I could find specific instructions to do so online. I am looking to buy an Audiovox AX900 or a Viper 437C. Thanks

Unless you have a real burning reason to want to install it yourself, I would ask around for a real reputable installer and pay them to do it. your time is money too and sometimes the most straight forward install can take a turn on you even if you have some background and skills. Besides if you are tying into the fuel and ignition systems for the kill function you might want the installers warrenty!!!!! --better than the bank account warrenty you would have on a self install.

My son had a top viper package installed in his mustang for $250 (cdn$) - ready to go no problems.

Ther is some drilling required and running wires neatly is a must to prevent confusion and problems down the road so it shouldn't be that bad.

Not sure where to find specific instructions on line. Google it

I would have to agree with JD. I have a 97 SE and I went with the Viper 350HV and got an optional motion detector (because I have a soft top). Because of the motion detector, a lot of fine tuning is involved which is why I left it to the installer. Also, to register the warranty you have to have proof that a professional installer put it in. All said and done the total was about 280 after tax, which isnt too bad. Lastly, if the wrangler you are getting is a soft top definitely get the motion detector, other wise it is almost pointless to put a system in at all.
