possible fake amss headers?

i just bought a pair of "amss" headers off ebay and wanted to make sure they are what they say. i just received them and i don't see any etchings or plates with the amss name on them. i was under the impression that they were marked some how. i also noticed that the porting on the flanges going to the head were pretty inconsistant (kind of sloppy). also there is alot of over-splatter from the welds. does anyone have true "amss" headers that could tell me if that's the way they are or not? they are supposed to be "amss gen 2". any info is appriciated. thanks.

How much did you pay for the header?

we've had a hundred posts on this site about buying performance parts off of ebay. its buying at you own risks. just b/c it says its made for the 3g eclipse doesnt mean its gonna fit like it should. and just b/c they say its AMSS doesnt mean its AMSS. thats the risk of buying off ebay. yeah you might get a good deal. so what if you saved $300, you have parts that probably wont fit correctly. and most likely there is a no refund policy.

i just tried them on my car and they fit perfectly. i paid around $500 for them only because in other forums they talked about the seller that sold them on e-bay.

wow, these must be amss headers. i ordered the wrong style (fed instead of cali) i didn't even notice i had the 2 cats on my stock manifold and a total of 4 o2 sensors. i sent the guy i bought if off of an e-mail and he called me back in like an hour and is sending me the correct cat for the sensors before i even return the old one. if he's that trusting i take it he's probably pretty honest about the headers. if anyone is interested pm me and i'll give you his contact info.

well, just found out why they were on e-bay. the flange on the downpipe that connects to the front header is welded a little bit crooked and won't seal. i'm going to have to get an exhaust shop reweld the flange on a little bit straighter. guess i got lucky that that's the only problem.
