Recently over heated, when checking the radiator for coolant there was none left. no outside leaks were seen. checked oil and sure enough the oil has water in it. Could this be a cracked head or just a blown head gasket? the spark plugs also have signafacint charing on them , just replaced the plugs, so they were brand new.

there is no way to know without teardown. I hope that it is just a head gasket vortec heads are pretty tough. Take them to a shop and have them magnafluxed that way you will know for sure. Remember, the heads are not the only thing that get hot when it is overheated that bad, you have a chance of a cracked block, though much rarer than a head or gasket, I have seen one.

Well I have got the motor torn down and it looks like just a blown head gasket, but i have not taken the heads to the machine shop yet, need to get some prices. How would I clean out all the gunk, from the oil/coolant mix?? It is extremly thick and i will prolly have to remove my oil pump and water pump( i would think) to get them flushed out real good.
