Just got my civic back from the shop and got my rings replaced. had everything machined also. But question is how long should I let the rings break in. I just want to make sure that they have sat before I open it up.

I would take it easy for the 1st 1500 miles. Keep the RPMs under 3000rpm for the first 500 miles and dont redline it til you hit 3000miles after a fresh oil change.

Make sure you do a oil change at 500 miles also then again at 1500 from when you did the rings. Ya I agree with RedRacerCivic first 1500 miles keep it under 3000. Also up hills and down put not big hills. On the freeway speed up and slow down constantly dont keep it at the same RPMs for the first 1500 miles. This will get the rings to seat perfectly.
Also for the first 2000 miles you may notice your going thru oil its ok until the rings seat fully. Do it right and you will have a nice strong motor.

yeah thats god info they gave you. check our oil often you may use some, change it every 500 till 2000, dont run it hard till 3000. Its also seat, not sat or sit.
