they all rev high - the gear ratios are very similar... i know cuz i got a h23 tranny in my 5th gen with a JDM h22

I was wondering how well the h23 tranny h22 engine setup works. The reason i ask is i heard the h22 tranny is made to withstand higher rpms(obviously hence the 6500 redline vs. 7500 vtec). I am wanting to swap an h22a into my si. Does that si tranny hold up ok? Or would you suggest saving for a h22 tranny also?

well... my SH h22 redlined at 6800.... and i would recommend the h22 tranny or the h23.. the h23 has SLIGHTLY shorter gearing in two gears and slightly longer in another so the acceleration would have a slightly different feel to it - but its harder to find i think.

thats odd. i thought all h22's redline was approximately 7500....unless you are low on oil because you need so much oil pressure to activate the vtec solenoid, or the car is not to a certain temperature. Am i wrong anyone?

i'm dead positive it's 7400. at least it should be.
