boost controller

I know someone will probably tell me to search for this on the net but i have been and ive found many different answers. But im trying to connect my manual boost controller. Most sites are saying to connect one hose from the wastegate to one side then to t-connect the hose running from the bov to the intake manifold. But ive heard that this isnt the best way to do it and u dont get consistent boost pressure. Is there another way to do it???

I haven't heard of anything bad from this setup... but I am newer to the whole turbo crap...BOV, MBC, WGA, HTB...that last one is for holy turbo batman!!!!sorry... lol Just so much damn reading and lots of it is written so damn confusing sometimes...I'd love to hear everyones thoughts on this also....

theres no difference.hook it from wastegate to mbc to bov line.

Or you could get a better reading by connecting it to the WG actuator to the positive side of the turbo.

That would give a worse reading. Connect it to the intake manifold via the BOV line.

WRONG! The original Turbo XS written directions have it just the way i said, and i can post it if you like. If you tee it off from the line from the BOV from the intake manifold, that is more distance the air has to travel, making it less effective(not by much) as the way i said.

OK I've done some reading and from what i've got out of it this is it.....If you go off of the turbos housing you could/will have a spike up to 18-20 psi but the rest of the system isn't fully charged with that pressure! Going off of the BOV line will give you better reading cause it is off of the Int. manifold pressure. That seems more reasonable to me and is also how BoostedVince described it to me.

thats only really for a boost gauge that you have to connect it to the manifold for accuracy
spoolinscboy is on the right path but just needs to explain it better...
you can connect the MBC anywhere you want basically! on my GST i run one line off the LICP (where it connects to the turbo) to the MBC and the other from the MBC to the wastegate and set it that way... i have my Boost gauge tapped into the manifold so i know how much boost is entering the motor and set the MBC to the gauge reading!

It definately is for the boost gauge, but if spooln would stop being so full of himself and research, he would have found this:
Now, install the new MBC. First, you need to pick a source. Your source has to be a decently sized pressure port AFTER the throttle body. That means that you can not use the throttle body ports (too small) and you can't use anything on the intercooler pipes. Most people tee into the BOV line, and some run a seperate source from the PCV nipple, or their own extra nipple.
You HAVE to use the intake manifold is you want proper boost control. Why is that? The manual boost controller regulates the amount the wastegate is open based on the pressure at its source. Since you want to control manifold pressure, you want the MBC and the WGA to be recieving pressure directly from there.
Using a source off the turbo or intercooler pipe can cause you to have boost that changes with weather, load, and engine speed, and can also slow down boost response. By comparison, a manifold source will be fairly steady, solid, and reliable.
If you take as much pride in saying "WRONG" next time, you'll look pretty fuckin dumb when you are wrong. Notice how I didn't scream about a correction, otherwise people would get mad.
