The lip difference

Hey guys what happening? I own a 4g civ hatch and am looking for a good lip to put on it. I ran into a 87 civ si hatchback with a perfect lip on the front but heres the problem. I've noticed that the crx lip is bigger and is broken down into 3 sections while the civic lip is one whole piece and smaller. Please correct if I'm wrong? and are there any over difference's?

And which models came with the lip of both the crx and civic? I'm going to my local pick and pull and am going to look around for one cause there are a pile of rex's here.

The CRX lip (air dam) that you are looking at is from an HF. The HF front bumper is not as wide as the SI along the bottom edge (I know this because I have an HF air dam in my SI). You need to get the apropriate air dam for the width of your car or slightly modify the HF air dam to fit. All that you would have to do to make an HF air dam wider is to get 2 more HF end caps then cut n' splice 'em in. Essentially this means that you now have a 5 piece front air dam. The Civic SI and CRX SI models both use the same "skinny" air dam and the Civic and CRX HF models use the 3 piece air dam but there is a slight difference between them, in that the CRX HF uses a slightly taller air dam than the Civic. This means that there are 2 widths and 3 heights to choose from between the models.

I have an extra SI air dam if you need it, but are you sure that these will fit on your 4g?

I went ahead and found an 87 civic si lip and bought it. I took it home and tryed it and it simply hooked up with no problems on my 4g, all the holes matched up exactly. Looks real good cause it meets exactly on both sides where the bumper ends. I'll post pics once I get batteries for my camera.
