i have a 96 monte carlo z34 with the 3.4 eng in it, the car has been nothing been a headache since around 70,000 miles. The car now has 108,000 miles on it. I now have had a problem for a while, where when trying to start the car, it will start and cut off immeadiately. The only way the car will start is by holding the gas pedal down while turning the key. The problem does not always happen, it will do it everytime i try to start the car for like 3 weeks, then it wont happen again for a month or two, and then does it again for a few weeks. Another problem i have that is an intermittent problem is the car will hesitate very bad and barely go, this is a recent problem, there was a misfire code on cylinder 6, and i replaced the injector, and the car ran fine for 2 weeks, then the problem started again. I have ran cleaner thru several times for the injectors also. On this car i have replaced the alternator, all 3 coil packs, intake manifold, water pump, power steering pump, steering line, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, secondary air pump, plugs and wires twice, head gaskets, oil drive o-ring, timing chain and belt, serpentine belt 3 times.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Have you checked for any computer reprogramming updates with the dealer yet. All they need is your VIN. Some drivability problems and start up issues can only be cured by a computer update. If you have to push the accelerator to the floor each time you start it, you are actually telling the computer to shut off fuel flow intermittantly. It's called "clear flood" mode. Just make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks also. Hope this helps -Chris
