Carbon fiber hood on 5th Gen

Hi Kids, Here's a pole. I have a 2003 Silver Maxima. I was debating on a carbon fiber hood, and I think it'll look nice, but I wanna know what you think.

since i got my new rims i've been looking into a cf hood myself. the problem is that the hydraulic hood shocks are too strong and will rip the hood mounts off when you try to close it. on the org they're kinda looking for aftermarket hood props that use significantly less force. there are people with cf hoods on 5th gens but they have converted their car to use normal hood props like in a civic.

Personally, I think CF hood like like crap on anything except a black car, they seem out of place.

carbon fiber hoods like tite on pretty much any decent car...

I've seen a CF hood on a 5th gen and it's downright sick. Get it if you can.

Honestly, I'd say the only color it would look bad IS on a black car, becuase carbon fiber is black too, it'll look like the hood is the wrong color. On a car a different color, like white or blue, it just stands out that much more.

How about a cf on a fourth gen? I am getting one regaurdless, but do I have to get different hood, shocks?

Because the CF hood is lighter, you probably will have problems with the hood shocks.

I think that does look like crap, it's waaay ricey.

If anyone here is familiar with Kloogy's car from the .org, that proves my point exactly, it looks absolutely terrible. It takes all the class away from the Maxima and makes it look cheap...just not my style, I like to keep my Maxima classy.

ya i agree. i think that alot of the aftermarket parts for the maxima dont really make it look that great. dont get me wrong there are plenty of add ons that will make it look sick. but for the most part, the majority of mods make the car look cheap, if you will. especially and i think this is the #1 cheapest and worst addon for the maxima...the altezza taillights.those things are soooooo damn ugly.when i see someone put them on their maxima...i just think to myself.....what the hell we thinking when we buy this part?!?!?!? i mean damn.....lets have some taste.but anyways.that is my opinion.

Unfortunatly, that isn't my car. The one in my sig is mine. The 01 I posted no longer exists.

If you like it, get it. It's your car. I don't think I'll be doing it anytime on my white max, but my money is pretty tight anyway. I still need the ECU reflashed and new UD pulley
