i have an idea for an engine swap (this is just off the top of my head after doin a little research)...would it be possible to put an 02'-05' RSX engine and trans. (prob a manual) into a 97 integra gs? i know it will take some time, i'd have to work on suspension, braking, exhaust might be tricky, fuel lines...what else would i have to look out for? and what type of modifications am i looking at? cutting and welding stuff along those lines? any advice about engine swaping would be great. thanks :naughty:

im in the process of doing that in my car, getting the motor tomorrow, should have the motor in the car as soon as my friends get the mounts made. this swap is fairly difficult but made easy by HYBRID-RACING. just call these guys at 985-951-8588 and ask for will and he will explain everything about the swap to you. ill keep you posted on the progress of the swap in my car.

good luck dude, should be bad ass when its done. i know this guy that put that motor in his 88 civic hatch, along with the 6 speed tranny. he said it took him 11 months to do, but that was in a totally different car. wouldnt that motor w/ tranny cost more than a b18c5, which would almost drop right in?

yeah the motor is usually more expensive than a type-r but whats the best times out of a stock type-r? 14.0-14.2 im not too sure but i can tell you that a guy that they sponsor named jeremy kindle ran a 13.0 with a stock k20a2 in an eg hatch (full interior) and gets 40mpg on the highway. now i know that his car is significantly lighter than my 95 gsr but when mine goes in it will have kpro, intake, dc sports header, and skunk 2 exhaust. i should get about a 13.2 out of this motor, also im going to get the crower cams, springs, retainers and valves and then it will make power to 9750 rpms. with their plug-n-play harness and easy to install mounts it is very easy to do the swap. they just finished the prototype mounts for the dc2 and i am waiting for them to produce the mounts and then it will be in my car. ill have to post pics and slips when i get it in.
anyone interested in this swap should really give them a call and see what they can do for you. they are also on www.k20a.org alot as hybridracing and just ask them any questions you may have.
