The carburator is a Rodchester 4-b. He has replaced the floats, they took the entire carb. apart, they said everything LOOKED fine. So back on the boat it went, SAME PROBLEM, he checked the Fuel Pump pressure--fine. Why does it keep dumping fuel??? It will start, idle for about three minutes then floods out and dies. HELP

did it just start?? or did you just put it on.... if you just bought it i would check the jet sizes and re adjust the carb.. or maybe they arnt adjusting the floats right

Recheck the float level, and make sure the pin that holds the float is placed the right way (try flipping direction, may be causing it to catch) also check to make sure the needle is not snagging anywhere.
Edit; just to say, this ^^^ was the problem I had last year after I rebuilt the q-jet on my '85 Caprice. The pin that holds the float in position was flipped over in the wrong direction when I re-assembled it. I didn't think it would make a difference, but apparently it did...

well like ridge and burnM said, its the float. its needs to be adjusted. it needs to be bent so that the float sits ferter away from the top of the carb more, (just so you know what way to bend it). but dont listen to ridge and far as the holley part, a holley will only work bettern than a quadrajet if one of the two following conditions are in effect...
1.the quadrajet was not tuned, (as probably 90% of all quadrajets are really truly tuned), and the holley had over 5 hours of good tuning, or...
2. ridge got ahold of the quadrajet with his sledge :icon16:

I agree, it probably is the float. Unless its just way too big of carb all together.
