Ok i've been looking at alot of cars latly and from what i can see the rx-7 turbo is a nice performance car but i have a few questions about it.
This pretains to the 87 turbo model since its the only one i can find at my pricerange turbo'd.
1. How much does it weigh, i've read around 2800 lbs dry, is this true?
2. What can it do in the q/m and 0-60?
3. Does it handle well and if so what makes it handle well?
4. How upgradable are they performance/cosmetics wise.
5. Are repairs expensive and how oftin do they need serviceing?
6. If a tree fell in the forst and there was no one around to hear it does it make a sound?
lol
seriously though any info would be great thank you guys

1. True. But mine weight 2640 DRY after stripping a lot.
2. I believe stock is 14.5 - 14.8. With minor mods, you can run a 14 flat or less.
3. Handles very well. The 50:50 ratio is the best reason combined with its lightweight.
4. Lots of performance market. Plus there are a lot of grassroots parts of RX7 owners that fabricate their own parts and sell it.
5. Require normal oil and coolant change. Once modified, pay more attention than any other car. Once fried, pay lots more attention and money than any other car.
6. Yes.

your car will weigh roughly 2860 lbs
87 turbo would run about 15 flat stock, maybe 14.9 or 14.8... but it will take more than bolt on's to get 14 flat. bolt on's will probably only get you 14.4-14.5
like he said, it handles great
plenty of upgrades available
they are decently reliable, turbo models aren't quite as reliable as the non-turbos... if it has over 100k miles on the stock motor be careful because they usually blow after that
