mkIII intake pipe

Can anyone tell me the best place to find a intake pipe to replace the rubber hose and resonator. If not custom fit what size and angle will fit best and will it come with rubber couplings to attach to mafs and intake.

I've looked in several places and found nothing... By "resonator", do you mean the circular canister in-line with the intake? What's it for? Mine has a hole in it about the size of a dime because of exaust heat... do I really need it? This brings up another issue--what's the point in adding a nice intake if the exaust manifold is just going to heat it up? Maybe we need more heat shields......

i replaced the electric "supercharger" that the previous owner had in place of the resonator with a chunk of high pressure pvc pipe painted black. it hasent melted yet and im runnin no heat sheilds on my exhaust manifold. and yes you will have a problem if you have a hole after the afm, the car will run like $#!% then eventually not run at all. the electric supercharger melted in my car, and left me stranded. i had a couple of bucks in my pocket and fixed it with a scrap piece of pvc from ACE and its still doin the job otherwise just get a chunk of steel or aluminum. they do make wraps to protect from high exhaust heat!!!

Those wraps are used in rally sport. The have a disadvantage. The exhaust gases are kept warm. So the thermal stress on the turbo and oil is bigger then normal. Keep that in mind. And using pvc is just great. the costs are low and the availability is good.

I don't have a turbo, so I guess I would be getting only advantages here...right? (by the way, dont peddle your turbo switch crap here people!)

the NA engines have a lot of profit from hot hot gases...Exhaust off course. the speed of the pressure wave is more constant so a custom exhaust system is easier to make and creates more power(torque)

So those wraps are usefull...
