Either or would be fine. If it were me, i would get the WS6 T/A, but both of those cars are very nice/ very fast. Me, i'm gettin myself a Grand National.

First, this discussion belongs in the "pony car" section, as neither of these cars are muscle cars. If you want a modern muscle car, you have but one choice. GTO. And, in stock form, it can run right along side the Cobra and have more class in the process.
The Cobra and WS-6 cars are more "road cars" than hot rods. The Cobra has a slight edge in power. The T/A will stomp it in the twisties. If you're after straight-line performance, I would think Mach 1 would be a better choice. The Pontiac in that class would be Formula.
I'm a Pontiac bigot, but my brother is into Fords, and I've learned to respect some of the performance potential of the modern Mustangs. Of course, if you go back a few years, there's NO comparison... T/A is the undisputed champion of the smogger era.

Almost everything I read in your post MrPbody seemed wrong IMO. I'll dissect it point by point:
"First, this discussion belongs in the "pony car" section, as neither of these cars are muscle cars."
I don't know how a "pony car" is not a muscle car, but oh well. The Cobra, Trans Am and Z28 are "road cars?" That's a new one. I thought that muscle cars were road cars too.
"If you want a modern muscle car, you have but one choice. GTO. And, in stock form, it can run right along side the Cobra and have more class in the process."
The Cobra is capable of mid to high 12's bone stock. The GTO is a mid to high 13 second car. Run along side a cobra? Fat chance.
"The Cobra has a slight edge in power."
If you call 65hp slight...
"The T/A will stomp it in the twisties."
If anything, the WS6 and the Cobra BOTH suck in the twisties, with THE COBRA SUCKING MUCH LESS due to the independant rear suspension. I have an LS1 Z28, and it handles like shit unless you like throttle-on oversteer. It does love going fast in a straight line, though.
"If you're after straight-line performance, I would think Mach 1 would be a better choice. The Pontiac in that class would be Formula."
The Formula was basically a Trans Am in the body of a V6 for that "sleeper" look. They are not in different classes whatsoever and have the same powerplant and suspension. The mach 1 basically has the cobra motor minus the eaton supercharger and 85 hp. It has a more traditional live rear axle that is much better for the dragstrip.
Cobra 420hp, check out www.ls1tech.com for info and multimedia on all LS1 powered cars (and Cobras for that matter). It's a very informative site, one of the biggest auto forums on the internet (35000+ members). Judging from th
