04 Trailblazer Taillight Guards.

Hello Gang,
Just purchased the Aries Taillight guards for my 2004 Trailblazer LT. Easy as pie to install, problem is I can't close the rear hatch. I followed the simple instructions, and removed both existing screws on both lights placed guards and put back original screws. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank You Bob.
