Super Duty Diesel Auto Trans - OK or Not

This is my 1st PSD. It’s an early 03, 6.0 with 5 speed auto trans. F350 Dulley, 410 gears. I've not had any engine or trans problems, and it was rescanned before I got it. I've been having the dealer service it and the dealer tells me tis up to date on all upgrades. SoI'm not sure if I have a problem or not, and thought I'd pose it to the forum with the hopes of getting others feedback.
Here goes the explanation:
At constant highway speeds, when using cruise or with the peddle, after coasting downhill, and beginning to climb the next hill (assuming one right after the other with only a slight dwell between them), it seems as tough the trans shifts into a "limited neutral or non-locked condition".
I notice that as peddle pressure is added, the tack rises about 200-300 PRM, then begins to drop. During the drop, you begin to feel the pull from the engine, and then it locks in and pulls fine without any perceived slippage. The steeper the hill, obviously requires use of more peddle, which quite frankly seems to amplify the problem because it seems to lurch once fully locked. Going between steep hills actually causes me to turn off the cruise if I'm using it .
Is this general experience of all? I've never felt this on any other vehicle I;ve ever owned. But then again, I’ve never had a PSD auto before.
Thanks, Dean

whenever you give it more gas it will unlock the torque convertor on any auto trans. also keep in mind that was the first generation torqueshift. THe 4r100 does it somewhat. Any vehical does it, just the 6.0 has enough torque to notice.
