Hi everyone im new to this forum - only just discovered it! I usually spend time in www.briansmodelcars.com forum, u should check it out if u havn't already.
Anyway i'd like to tell u all about a little venture im setting up coz i'd like to get your views on it. With my models i like to customize them with bodykits or ground-effects and im now planning to make a range of these to release as transkits for other modelers to customize their models. This little venture is going to be called Scale Auto Style which along with the bodykits i hope to produce a range of wheels and tyres and various wings/spoilers there may even be scale graphics too!
I'm currently working on a few kits to release in the near future (all being well) which include Honda S2000, Ultimae Celica (Rod Millen), nissan 180sx and '84 300zx and i'm also plannig to work on the new 350z, new and old impreza's, Fast and Furious Supra, HKS Altezza and many more. Its all in its seminal stages but very exciting, i've had a huge and positive response from people so far and now i would like to know wot u guy's think. Just give me your opinions good or bad and let me know wot u would like to see too!
thanks,
Chris

Countt me in!!!
Of course it's the one thing we have no access to, so Mugen style bodykits for Hondas, Toms parts for Toyotas etc. would go down very well here!
How are you making them? I guess you are using resin?
Good luck in your venture, and keep us posted.
Yes, I am very interested! I want to add the Mugen kit to an S2000.
Veilside is a bit OTT for me!

I'm very interested as well. Would you like to tell us more about this, such as what material you will use. :)

The bodykits will be cast in resin similar to the many transkits available for rally cars etc. The wheels i would like to get done in aluminium for strength but im still looking into this and searching for a suitable manufacturer although these may to end up being cast in resin. Tyres hopefully in rubber but still researching this idea. Im looking at using photoetch parts for elements to the wings such as the uprights and end plates with the wing itself in resin.
Here are some pics of the real cars that im making models of at the moment;
Ultimate Celica - http://www.rodmillen.com/racing/ucelica/ult_cel.htm

Will you make them to order? Or bang out batches at a time?
I'll be interested to see prototype pics! :D

Great idea man! the only thing i can think of that might get in your way is probably the cost. How do you plan on manufacturing these parts? distributing? and how will you design say the "custom" bumpers for a honda civic made by tamiya, and a civic made by fujimi, does that mean you will have a selected line of parts that can only be used with their respective manufactures? eg. tamiya, hasegawa, fujimi, aoshima etc. let me know what you think.:)

To answer your Q's Max the parts will be manufactured by myself and cast in resin. For distribution i intend to have a website up in the near future for so people can place their orders but a couple of people who run similar aftermarket companies have shown interest in stocking my items. As for the compatibility issue between different manufacturers im looking into that one now, i have arrange to send the transkit i have made for the Tamiya Nissan 180sx to someone who has the Fujimi version. Hopefully it will be compatible and then it can be advertised as such, if thats not the case with it or any other transkits i produce then i will certainly state that it is only intended for that specific kit. The wheels that i will sell may be a different matter as they would not take much to modify so that they can be fitted to Tamiya, Fujimi and Aoshima kits. So therefore i intend to have each wheel design with the two distinct types of fitting for these kits.

you could also do any style of body kit for the revell integra R and make other style of wheels. I think the modelist is a good industry for aftermarket parts after all we talk of cars.

Wow , that will be nice , anyway , what do you estimate the cost for a body kit or a wheel set to be?
