First off i bought this car for a 100 bucks and it didn't run so i started checkig things systematicly first checking to see if it was getting fire and what do you know it wasn't so i had the control module coil-packs and knock sensor checked and all were fine but when i went to take the crankshaft position sensor out it was partially broke off inside the block so i took loose the front mounts and jacked the motor up so i could get to it better to get it out but it was stuck in there so tight that i even use a peg and hammer to try to knock it in and it wouldn't move so i took it to a grage and they pulled the oilpan to try to get it and discovered that it had a blown head gasket on the side farthist toward the firewall and they said that it would be easier to just replace the motor than to change the head gasket. But i think that he is full of it. But then again i'm not to much of a machanic, So what do you think? ANY recamindations would be appreciated! Thanks,

You didn't say how many miles are on the engine. If you have more than 100K spend the money to replace the engine. I have a 2.8 that has over 209K on it but it sits more than it runs these days. In order to replace the head gasket on the inside you are talking about major labor charges. If you can find a good used 2.8 for a decent price you will have far less labor and a probably get a lot more for your money.
