I think they are all the same, you are just paying for the name more than anything. You really do that with anything. I would just buy a normal cheap one. As for if it's legal or not...i really have no clue about CA.:(

That isnt true, trust me when it comes to radars, paying a bit more might be the difference between getting a ticket and not.
