C5 Corvette & Honda/Acura NSX [not performance]

Yeah, we all know that the C5 is more powerful than the NSX. I'm not looking for people to tell me that twenty times.
I'm a big NSX fan, and I regard the Corvette highly as a true American sports car. I know that everyone always gushes over the NSX's handling, and I'd like to hear how the C5's compares.
And, as an NSX fan, I'm real familiar with it's silhouette, but the C5 will always catch my attention from the corner of my eye and make me turn my head. They both have big side scoops, just facing opposite directions. They just stike me as looking similar. Anyone else see this? Especially from the side.
Also, the Corvettte and NSX are the only cars that come to mind when I think about how they have "running lights" in the front. Both have two forward-facing lights that (I think) are part of the turn signal clusters, that are always on. Can anybody tell me why, and what other cars have them?

the lights, at least on the vette, are daytime running lights. they are usually in the headlite of a car , like in a vw passat...
but since the vette has a flip up h/l, the drl is in the turnsignal...
the firebirds are the same way, as they also have flip up h/ls...
the two cars are similar, i agree... but i always notice a vette as a vette...
the nsx looks like a ferrari comin up in the rearview, and i had that view not that long ago... its sweet...
definitely a different car.... you cant confuse it...
the only reason i look at every vette though, is b/c i live in cleveland, and mallett racing is five mins from my house, and they turn out high dollar sick fast vettes...
high dollar meaning that engine mods are in the tens of thousands... not just thousands...
nice cars...

I see the similarity. I prefer the Vette of course, I think the NSX looks very dated.

but the nsx is a timeless bodystyle... its been around since 90?... and it still looks good and takes names...
its like a ferrari in that aspect... it gets older, and looks better.

Hmmm I think its badly in need of a re-style. I didn't really like it when it came out. I've always found it lacking in design 'character'.
Just my opinion, no flames please.

it does need a redesign... but that depends on if you liked it...
i liked it when it came out, so i think it still looks good...
but all that matters is that it handles and is hella quik

Check the new motor Trend cover to see a picture of it's redesign.
However, I think both are great, but I'd personally take the NSX because I see a bunch of vettes.

The editors at AutoWeek seem to agree with you. Sort of.
From the May 21, 2001 issue of AutoWeek
Some accuse NSX, like many Japanese techno-marvels, of lacking a soul. If precision driving, valve lifters screaming away behing the ears, is a soulless endeavor, we'll gladly be damned.

I agree with Lizard. I love the way the NSX looks but it is very dated compaired to the C5.
