Depends I guess.Those who support, say, the oppresive dictatorship currently in place in Iraq would argue that it is necessaray and desirable for the safety and stability of the wider community.They would argue that without large numbers of snarly men waving guns around and offing the occasional stroppy civilian,anarchy and chaos would be the norm.

No doubt if the population of Iraq settles down and does as it's told,the snarly guys with guns will relax a little and might even share some of their chocolate with the locals.

Perhaps if the order were reversed, with the soldiers giving out the chocolate first, then we might see some real and profound change.

Make more admin. Have an election type thing, where the people who actually MAKE THE FORUMS decide who should be admins. Make it the candidates have to be mods. This way, only the GOOD people become admin.

The ruling class is there for a reason. Humans need to be controlled by humans. We are not able to sustain society without a higher power. We all need a certain level of control that can only be granted by the ruling class. Therefore, though sometimes irritating, we'd be lost in a horrible state of anarchy without some form of control, dictatorship or no. :2cents:

zebrathree: whatever "intelligence agency" informed you that the "Arabia Forums" is open to becoming a democracy, needs to get its head out of its ass.

Just like how a Police Officer (at least in my neck of the woods) can't give any tickets to anyone involved in an accident that occurs in a private street or parking lot, neither does whatever you deem as "justice" apply in here, except for maybe a sense of community, and whatever the administrator, and his chosen moderators deem appropriate within the bounds of decency.

Now if you think the community is becoming too overpowered by moderators who are over-stepping their bounds (from YOUR point-of-view), then PM the administrator.

See the only "bounds" the moderators are held to, are the ones imposed by the admin, and owner of the site, and the ones agreed-upon by the moderators as a group. THAT'S THE WAY IT IS.

This is a privately-owned site.

If the admin doesn't reply, then tough on you.

Feel-free to either a) leave, and start your own community, where your own personal sense of justice can roam free, or b) leave temporarily, until the admin responds to your direct contact, or c) just simply, leave.

I'd personally go with d) live with it, but that's just me. I certainly won't go around starting threads that are thin attempts to get a rise out of other, self-righteous, not to mention, pompous, asses like you.

What are you going to do? Start a spamming campaign? Attempt to hijack the server? Hold general elections?

On the other hand, if you do have a legitimate beef with a moderator, this thread is definitely the wrong way of going about it. You're one of those creeps that think because one moderator is doing whatever, then ALL must be either in on it, or is condoning it, whatever "it" is. How about you talk to a moderator that is not the one you have problems with?

The only thing you are accomplishing with this thread is making most of the mods go against you, irregardless of the offense that prompted this.

Please don't try and think your clever, most of us have been around forums longer than have probobly had internet access.


Iv seen many forums come and go, all have been dictatorships of some form or another, all have been aurthoratian and all have had members who tried in some form or another to rebel against it.

Some are just out right thick, easy to spot and quickly delt with. Others are more subtle, being indirect and often skirting around the issue useing only vauge refernces, and others have even succeded in becoming admins on the forum, leading it to a complete and total collapse.

But all have one thing in common, they are insecure attention seekers and thier behaviour is always destructive to the comunity spirit that forums need to survive.


The very nature of forums require a dictorial approach from the admin and very strict and heavily enforced set of rules for the members.

If you believe otherwise then please start your own forum and prove otherwise.


But don't become one of those people who feels a need to rebel against a system that dosn't need it. You will not win.

As you wish. Any transgressions by moderators will now be taken through any official channels.
