As the rainy season is in full swing here, we've been getting tons of it.
I was changing my fuel filter one morning and bumped the nipple on the bottom of the spare tire well. (huh huh huh uh i said nipple!) My nipple was leaking! it didn't stop leaking so i opened the hatch and removed the carpet to find the reason why. My spare tire well was half full (or half empty for the pessimistic people) of water! I popped my nipple out and watched the flood of water run down the driveway. There had to be at least 4-5 gallons of water in there. At the hatchlocking area there is a drain tube that was suspect for causing this so i popped it off and got even more water. AH HA, the drain tube was clogged so bad, I couldn't blow it out. I had to take it out and beat the hose on the ground to get the crap out. The other side wasn't as bad but still had crap in it.
Moral of the story: Blow your hose, or play with your nipple.
I removed the spare tire, cleaned it off, re painted the rust. I'm going to redo the wooden plank over the spare tire well in plastic as the origional swelled.

I have a problem with my rear footwell being wet? ive fitted new sunroof seal but it still leaks, my sunroof does need adjusting tho to pull it down more. and my rear hatch drain holes allways clog up, every time i wash the car, i have to blow them through. I see you own an 83, so your battery's in the front, good job en all

I see you don't own an 83 because my sunroof is manual! No leaky roof for me! Shouldn't there be a set of drains from the sunroof area to somewhere? Maybe the alcohol has taken effect.

yeah there is drain holes, but they clog up as well, and they go through the boot and out the rear/bottom boot corners.
