Changing steering column

If want to replace my 92 steering straight column with a tilting column. If I replace it with on that has intermittent wiper switch, will I have any problems or mods need to be done. Will the wiper moter I have now work with the new wiper switch?

I know that it's tempting to switch to a tilt steering, however they often wear out at the tilt knuckle, leaving you with a steering wheel that shakes around. If this condition happens it often destroyes all the wires in there. I'm actually switching mine to a non tilt to correct the problem.

If you go through the work changing all the wiring harness will probably get you most of the accessories, except the cruise control. I'm sure that some auto wrecks will sell you everything that you need for a very good price. Get a columb with a ignition key.

Changing the columb is pretty easy, and shouldn't take very long, but the under-dash wiring might be tough.

I picked a column up for $35. All the wiring looks the same, and should plug right in to the existing plugs. I already have cruise so I don't think that will be a problem. Also got the wiper moter from the doner.

Didn't have the keys though.

Good price for the steering columb. I might be wrong, but there is usually a different relay for intermitent wipers. It's probably located close to the fuse box. The wiper motor is usually the same.

Any locksmith should be able to cut you a new key. It's tough removing the old switch without a key
