Hi Guys
There is a new world record holder on the 0-100-0 for a factory built car.
Ultima Sports today recorded a 0-100-0 time of 10.3 Seconds in a standard Ultima GTR package, with an American Speed Engine (the company's recommended engine supplier).
The 644bhp SBC revved to 7600 and managed the 100mph sprint in 5.9 seconds, stopping just 4.4seconds later.
This shaves 1 second off the time set by the Holy Grail, the Macca F1, and pokes a half second gap over the Cateram R400, the previous world record holder.
It should be possible to better that time with a few practices.
Full details are here (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=119292&f=20&h=0) And there are three cool videos to download.
A top British car with a top American engine - good call

241.3 :grinyes: not 231...
I dunno about that. The mclaren that was for sale supposedly has 1000 hp or atleast it says its a gtr btw racing calipers it can break faster and accel faster there fore it must be quicke the Lm's record is 10.9 :screwy: so 350 hp later and even more well devoloped brakes hmm. It might be B.S about the 1000 but if its true then it will.

but i HAS to be a factory production moedl and not a 'one off'
McLaren is just down the road from me (about 8 miles) I have visited their place on a factory tour 5 years ago. They only ever manufactured the F1 LM.
I had an F1 for an afternoon (while my Lister Storm was being borrowed by the owner fo the F1) and I can honestly say mosy people don't even know what it is !
I pulled up outside a country pub and me n she done dinner; when we came outside there was 1 bloke who was creaming and knew what it is was at, some others fools were looking at a red prehistoric E-type Jag.
By comparison, the F1, although so modest, was unknown by joe public !
