Traction Control

Is there any reason that traction control should be left on? I know the car defaults to on but I ran with mine off and my fuel milage went up .5 per gal. I know thats not alot (well, yes it is), but would this mean that there could be less wear on the drivetrain if its off?
thanks

I doubt its less drain, its all electronically sensored, TC on doesnt mean its dragging the car down. I suggest a few fill ups and a longer experiment.
I cant see how TC off would improve mileage. I feel it should decrease fuel efficiency, simply due to the fact that its easier to break traction :D

Shouldn't that be 'decrease fuel efficiency, since I'm driving around TRYING to break traction'? :)
