LT-1 Hard Start

I have an 86 Camaro that I put a '93 LT-1 in a several years ago. All of the sensors appeared to be working in the correct range. It ran fine once it got warm. During cold weather, it would fire right off when I hit the key, but would run for a couple of seconds and die. I would end up starting it 3 to 5 times before I could get it to run. During this time it would run really rich. The LT-1 came out of a Trans-Am that had been wrecked and only had about 6,000 miles on it. I'm not sure as to how long it had been sitting, but I would say less than 3 months. I've read on here where another guy had the same problem, someone recommended new plugs and wires. I never even thought about checking the plugs and wires, but will this weekend. Any other ideas?

I would do a basic tune up on it.. plugs wires , cap and rotor (optispark) maybe check the fuelpressure .. does it seem to be running to rich?

sounds like it could also be an IAC valve going bad. the IAC controls the air for the low engine speeds. basicly its a computer controled idle screw, so when it goes bad, it may cause idle or low speed operation problems, such as rich and lean conditions and stalling.
