replace 2nd gear

I have a turbo mr2 and my 2nd gear has a grind in it and I was wondering if it is possible to replace the gear itself or does the whole tranny have to be replaced? If I can just replace the gear where can I possible got one from? Thanks

it's more likely your synchros.

I'm going to do the same though just cause my synchros have been crap for a while. i THINK we can do just the second gear... otherwise its not so bad cause the e153 gearbox in the MR2 T is the same as the v6 camry! (except shifter assembly on other side) so parts aren't too bad.

But i still think its just your synchro playing up

ill look into that 1st but i was told that me 2nd gear had a grind in it when i got my clutch replaced

that would have been a REALLY good time to replace the synchros... the things are like 50 bucks but getting the box out to do it is like 500...or a grand here!
