i rescently bought my 95 honda civic EX it already has a body kit on it, lowered, new 18in wheels on it. But the VTEC engine is almost completely stock. I wanna get a turbo kit very soon and just have a few questions.... mods i looked through the other threads and didnt find much. sorry if it was there.
Alright.

Is the Apex'i SAFC a whole new ECU for the car? I want a performance ECU without a govenor.....

Does the intercooler replace the radiator or do you have both on with the turbo??

How much horsepower will my civic have with the VTEC engine with a turbo, intercooler, and Apex'i SAFC?? i was hoping to get atleast 275hp but im sure if thats what i will get.

Sorry if these sound like stupid questions im new to hondas and these performance parts and want to learn all i can!!!

I am fairly new to hondas but if you are wanting to turbo it I would sugest a few things first. Upgrage your internals, second your fuel system, third ignition system. Thoes are in no specific order but iif you just slap a turbo on a stock engine you are going to blow something. You need to build it up first. And about that no rev-limiter on your ECU my boy had a 93 GSR Hatch with a chipped ECU and removed rev-limiter. Well he missed a gear and the RPMs hit like 10500 and he sent a piston to visit his cam shaft so be careful about no redline.

i was thinking just the greddy TD04H-15G...... Does even the small turbos like that one need stronger internals? After i got the new turbo in i want to get the tein SS suspension with EDFC. Is the EDFC a good thing to buy or just a waist of money? it seems pretty cool so i can raise my ride up on shitty roads with lots of potholes....

Correct me if I am wrong anybody but I heard that honda motors are not really built to hold boost. Stock that is and even moded they cant hold to much. But I have seen some bad ass turboed hondas but all the ones I have seen have had mods but it can be done. I would suggest some mods first though.

MOst Honda engines are good up to about 6psi of boost. Anymore than that and you should reinforce the internals. Your D16 motor will prolly be up to about 180hp with the turbo. They say the motor can handle up to 40-60 extra HP.

When getting a turbo kit the intercooler goes infront of the radiator.

Most of your questions can be answered by just searching the web. Look up A'PEXi SAFC.

Yeah thanks for all your help, i think my plan is::: Drive my car for awhile with the stock engine but in the meantime buy a B18c, build it up in my garage with a turbo and stronger internals and then after that is all done and i have all the parts for the swap i'll slap on my civic...

How much horsepower can i look forward to getting from a turbocharged B18C engine with performance exhaust????

I think that that would be a better idea than slapping a turbo on you stock motor. When it comes to your B18c there are more than one. If you are getting a B18c that is an teggy LS which is non v-tec, a B18c1 is a teggy GSR v-tec, B18c5 is a tYpe R whis is the bomb diggity. That would be insane if you slapped that in turbo charged. I dont exactly know about HP displacement I havent leared all thoes yet!

The B18C5 isn't a good candidate for FI because the compression is too high. It makes for one hell of a NA motor though.

yeah, im gonna order my B18c1 swap kit off totaljdm.com and it comes with everything i need. its $2999 and has less than 35000 miles on it so it seems like a good buy. Then im gonna buy my greddy turbo of ebay probibley. Do i need to worry about suspension because of the new engine or is it about the same weight. Im also gonna get the TEIN super street dampers with the EDFC controller so i can adjust the suspension. Its gonna be so sweet!!! im gonna get some pics uphere very soon of my ride!!! thanks for everyones help.
