don't buy a car looking to modify it into being something you will like
buy it if you like it already, then when you mod it, you will like it MORE :D

Thats just good advice all around. Don't put down money for something thats not exactly what you want, there is too many cars out there for that. Half the people on the Past Z forum section are one time posters who bought non-turbos wanting to do a Twin Turbo engine swap.

Define what you are looking for in a car before you start looking for the cars themselves.

Heh heh heh...nothing is worse then getting really pumped and dumping out time and money on a car that dissappoints you. When I bought my 240SX you couldn't have convinced me that it wasn't one of the slickest cars ever created if you put a gun to my head. Then in a year or so after I had done plenty of work on the car, seen the black oil, heard the timing chain rattle, well...I came to terms with the fact that while its a pretty good car for just under 200k miles that I still get stoked just looking at, and a good buy at $2500, its still just a stock 89 240SX with just under 200k miles. One thing its not is a high performance sports car.

So to fix that I bought a 95 Z32 Twin Turbo and am upgrading the turbos to make 500+ rwhp. :D

DID SOMEONE SAY 190 MPH?!

Life is good.

sweet not much else to know then, parts might be hard to come by, but give it time and it will be more original than anything else you will find onthe street

What is on the wish list right now?

And for that matter what kind of power are people getting out of the new eclipses?

new eclipses, one has been supercharged w/ a Ripp modifications stage 3 supercharger...400whp and an 11sec. quarter, most others stick around 300whp w/ turbos and superchargers, its kinda difficult to pull power w/o forced induction and a piggy back ecu bcuz the ecu is being tricky about being tuned and always tries to go back to stock (no matter the mods)

400whp is being coaxed out of a I4 eclipse and 419whp out of a V6. Ironically, the boost levels are 20 and 22psi, respectively. So the I4 is a very good platform for boost.

Thats about what the guys turboing the stock KA24 (the 2.4L I4 stock in a 240SX) are getting. 300 rwhp on reasonable boost levels, 400 with some more work. Can't imagine the BSFC would vary much between engines of the same displacement, especially given the fairly stock condition of engine dispite slapping a turbo on it.

thats what my friend is doing, he has a 95 240sx and he's got a spare motor he's building to put a turbo kit on...i think he needs some competition, so i think i need to start putting away more money!
