Convertable Top 95 Firebird

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new at this (both message boards and cars) I finally bought a car that I wanted. It's a 95 convertable firebird. I've had no problems with it for a while now, however something is wrong with one of the gears that works the top. How can I fix that and is it an expensive fix? I can use any advice, thanks.

ps- My fiance also installed a Viper alarm on it because the previous owner put in some piece of crap Gargoyle. He just cant get the door locks to work with the remote, again any advice would be great! :p
