ZC Motor?

I was hanging out with some friends out where some fixed cars hang out, and this guy comes up to me and ask's if i would like to buy a ZC for $300 bucks. I was like "what's a ZC, a type of seat?" The guy laughed and said it was a JDM motor, that has 160 HP stock. Said he had it in his Celica with a Ractive intake and a single cam gear and was beating integras.

Now, I have never heard of a ZC before, can anyone give me some information, and would $300 be a steal, or a rip-off? I never had the chance to ask him if it came with all the parts to be instal ready, manifold, ect..

It's a JDM motor but the guy is blowing smoke up your ass. First off he said he had it in his celica? :bs: Secondly, I don't know the specs on the sohc vtec version of the ZC, but the other sohc non-vtec version only has 120hp. But I still doubt the engine is anywhere near 160hp stock. I wouldn't buy it if I were you, just on the fact that he claimed it was in his celica makes him look like a complete shady jackass. And then the price compared to how much hp he claims it has raises another flag... here I'll raise it for him :bs:

120hp comes in dohc or sohc versions
direct swap for 88-91 civic/crx

He might be selling the motor for that, but what conditions? Plus its not only the motor, you need transmission, maybe motor mounts and all that other shit...

for one that motor wont go into a celica......and for 2 the zc only has 137 hp..thats the dohc i dont kno about the sohc.......but the sohc does have vtec tho....and they r both jdm motors......and if he is selling it for 300 i suggest that u look at it and find someone around u that knows about jdm motors and have them look at it........

Hek no, He is SERIOUSLY telling you some bull Shit. A ZC Motor is about roughly 130hp. They come in the crx stock over in the mother land of Japan. I have one in my civic. I have a 94 dx. ZC is SOHC Vtec and DOHC depends on the year. If its a DOHC for 300 bucks thats a good deal, wish i would of found it. HE did not have it in his Toyota Either. Thats a lie. I have a fully ported and polished head on my ZC block and im pulling about 205 hard horses. Good choice for 300 bucks.:naughty:
