Ok I was wondering if I would be able to fix this motor for a 1995 GTP Grand Prix, 24valve v6, the guy said it blew a rod threw the oil pan, could I fix it and what would I need, or would I have to buy a new engine, thanks!

my money is on no b/c that could have cracked the block. funny thing bout this the t/a we have lossed a bearing and bent a rod. rebuilt the top half of the motor but the bottom half couldn't handle the pressure and it broke something else so now it's a complete rebuild job. but back to your question you really won't know until you get it out and physically check it.

Motor is shot. Don't even attempt to fix it because it will cost more to fix than it would to replace. Once a rod has been thrown throught the pan the damage is too extensive to repair especially since you will need everything that a new short block would have.

your motor is boat anchor material. Good luck finding a decent repalcement, 3.4 dohc are junk from the get go, nice power when new, but highly problematic. Even finding a decent rebuilt motor is virtually impossible, but whatever you do DO NOT buy a Recon engine, they are horrible
