Hi! I live in Toronto, Canada and bought a 2004 MALIBU LS with all options possible last month. On page 20 of the 2004 malibu brochure lists the LS with a leather wrapped steering wheel with sound system controls as standard equipment (not even an option). Also, this "standard" feature was and is still on the gm canada website as well.
Problem:
my LS (or any other Canadians) did not come with this "standard" feature
gm canada told me basically : it's a misprint, lived with it and it's your fault for not specifically checking to make sure if it really is a standard feature before buying (as if i will go through every single car part listed as standard!!!)
Question : anybody out there canadian or american had a similar experience and what can be done about it?????
Will GM compensate for their mistakes? will they atleast correct their brochures and website?

This must be a Canada-only problem. The '04 US brochure has OnStar and Safety on Page 20. On pages 18-19 is a photo of the dash (probably the same on as on your page 20), and the caption reads "Malibu LT".
Good luck suing GM over something so minor. The football player who died as a result of roof crush's family tried to sue GM this week, as widely reported in the press, and however valid the claim, lost.

Is it really a big deal? So you got an LS that didn't ever come with those features, I would consider myself lucky. I am sure you got it at an LS price instead of the full LT price.

I am almost positive that somewhere in that brouchure, in fine print, you will find the phrase:
"Vehicle features and specifications subject to change".
Or something similar.
