ok,

s=2.2 non VTEC 130 hp, no spoiler, hubcaps

si=2.3 non VTEC 160 hp, spolier, alloys

and yes they do make a VTEC model. it has 190hp 2.2, and same shit as the si.

96 is a 4th gen

VTEC VTEC VTEC

not VTECH, by the way :smile:

type s is not to be confused with the trim s, si, and vtec

Type-S is easily confused with the 4th gen model trim "S"

Type-S = JDM 5th gen, 220hp VTEC h22a
"S" = 4th gen, 130hp non-VTEC f22a

Oddly enough, they are the extremes of both the low and high end Prelude market; Having almost the same name, such irony.

The Type S Prelude comes with a slightly different designed Intake Manifold, air intake and exhaust manifold. The biggest deal is the Port and Polished Head from factory, Type S Pistons (Little higher Compression) and of course the Camshafts. The Cams have a little difference in the design not as much on the non-VTEC lobe compared to VTEC. The lift is a little taller and opens a little earlier and shuts faster. (I measured with dial indicator before installing). There are some awesome differences. Just Type S Cams No real difference, The whole combo, you just may have something. Oh there are Trany differences to.
