I have a 1987 - 944 & just put some sweet 17" rims on..
I looks great, but it sits a little high..
does anyone know if I can lower the ride height without changing the suspension?

only in the rear, unless you go ghetto and cut/heat the springs.

Lower profile tires.

I have low profile tires...
What I mean is the distance from the top tire to the wheel well.

I want the tires/wheels to be up into the wells....

For the front, you'll probably have to change out the springs though.

Thanks.. 83-944... The info is very helpfull. I will be turning some wrenches this week.. I 'll let you know how it works out....
Also, the front looks higher than the rear so I am going to look into some springs & struts... It's getting to be time to replace the struts anyway... More money, more money, more money....

I know koni do a insert for the front, instead of replacing the full leg you cut the top off the old one and take out all the guts then drill a 14mm hole thru the bottom then put in the insert and bolt it down, cool. 9m told me at the weekend and said there at a good price as well.

I know you didnt want to do a total swap but if you get full koni susp. then it will lower ur car and those 17s will look sweet. I did that with my '87 944 and i love it it is sexy as hell. I put a set of koni yellows with 17 in boxster wheels and yokohama tyres. im sure u will be happy with the setup
