89 240SX NEEDS HELP!!! >.<

I just bought a 1989 240sx 5 spd, the engine has about 155k milage, but it's almost gone...
things other than the engine works well...obviously I'll have to buy another engine and put it in this car (it seems like the engine lacks some parts but I'm not sure what they are, but it still runs...and makes loud noise and goes no more than 3000 rpm @ the 5th gear, the speed meter is also broken so I don't know how fast it is..probably around 70 miles)
I'm not good at cars, just need a daily transportation, and I don't have
any suggestion for me? I live in LA...so if anyone know what I should do with this car or where I can get an engine+installation (the stock KA24E is okay, I don't race) with a good price.
