when an engine is rebuilt what are the parts that are replaced?

Depends on just how much of a rebuild... Potentially everything except the block; down to just the top two piston rings and any bearings that look scuffed.
But the basic rebuild usually runs more along the lines of:
piston rings
crank & rod bearings
most gaskets and seals
And usually some machine work to 'freshen up' the cylinder bores and the deck.
If the heads are rebuilt too, it often takes:
springs & retainers
valve guides (only the worn ones)
valves (only the worn ones)
valve stem seals

hey fritz, where is a good plcae to find all the bearings and seals and what not you are tlaking aobut? just lordco or or soemthing?
