Well amigo, it sounds like we have yet another victim to the poor 91/92 syncros.
First, try to find some GM SYNCROMESH (also called Pennzoil syncromesh) and do a tranny flush with that.
Drive it around for a week or so, you should feel a little improvement.
But the best, most expensive, but only sure fix is new syncros $$$

I'm planning on doing an engine/ tranny swap within the next year,3rd gen 3s-gte, if i flush the tranny get redline tranny oil,or that penzoil do you think it will last me long enought to get to the engine swap. The car has 135,000 miles on it do you think it'll get me to 200,000 without a rebuild, so i dont have to waste any money going to a swap

mine's apparently been doing it for 5 years so far...
as i said ... learn to double clutch... my grandma can!
Synchros are for pussies anyway, they were made so people who couldn't drive could drive!

riiiight....anyway, i'm telling you, get pennzoil or gm synchromesh and the brass shifter bushings!!! your tranny will feel like its brand new. don't waste a ton of money on the redline! the syncromesh is like 2 or 3 dollars a bottle and will help tremedously!

To: Appleburger I looked up those tranny bushings, and they were not that expensive, alot less than i thought, so if i change the shifter bushings and change the tranny oil with the pennziol synchromesh, it should get rid of or get mostly get rid of the grind?
To: TRD2000 Doesnt double clutching get old after awhile just for everyday driving?
Well I'm gonna try the new bushings and tranny oil, if anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know, cause i dont want to rebuild the tranny.
Thanks alot

only really gotta do it on changes into 2nd, feel sorry for my grandma, as i said they never had it so if you wanted to drive you had to do it every gear.
only REAL problem it gives me is trying to launch hard and change fast into 2nd. but it's not worth pulling the engine and tranny out just to fix one synchro, so it's worth putting up with till i need to do the clutch or something big, then i'll do a full rebuild on the tranny, cause its been like it for a while so the 2nd gear teeth probably need brushing .. or filling most likely.
