need help w/ egr w/ headers

i was reading about the headers i ordered and they said that i might need to cap off my egr valve (which i believe is good anyway). my question is if i block it off, will it affect vaccuum readings or throw a ses code? if not, should i just block off the feed line, keep it open to outside air to feed, or remove the egr completely. thanks for any info.
