95 Yukon Power Window Problem

I have a '95 Yukon (4 dr) and have recently encountered a problem with the power windows in my car only responding from the driver's side controls. The individual switches on the front passenger and the 2 rear doors no longer work. At first I thought perhaps a fuse had gone bad and popped in a new one, but I am still having the problem. I also did make sure the child lock for the windows was turned off (and I think that would only effect the rear windows anyway). So I am stumped and wondering if anybody has any ideas that could help me? I am a newbie to the world of car repair and hoping there is something simple I am just overlooking. Yes, I was on a long road trip when I noticed. My passenger couldn't roll up his window and that is when I realized the rear windows didn't work either. It can't be the motors because they still work from the driver's side controls, but maybe there is a short somewhere?

try changing the switch, if all of them work from the other door. I would say it is in the switch. try wiggling the switch bottons press harder on the buttons. mine did the same thing it was the switch.

It seems strange to me that 3 switches would fail all at the same time, but then I suppose nothing is impossible. I will play around with it this weekend and see what I can figure out. Luckily the driver's side controls still work, otherwise I would feel much more urgent about this! I'll keep you posted...thanks for your help.

Here is a revelation: If that vehicle has a driver door that is unually opened more than the others, you might want to check that rubber tube that holds wires for the door locks, speakers, and windows. I had a 4 door Buick Skylark with the same issues. It turned out to be two broken wires just behind the drivers foot kick panel. The wires broke because of how much flexing those wires have to deal with. Besides, what door on any vehicle gets opened and closed more than any other door? The driver's! Before throwing down money for a new switch, try looking there first. If your not blowing fuses, and your windows all still work from the drivers controls, its limited to that door, its switches, and wiring. Hope you solve your problem -Chris

Well it took me a while to find time to take my door apart, but this last weekend I believe I solved my power window problem. It seems it was a very simple problem relating to the window childlock switch on the drivers door. The wire attaching to the switch had come loose, or at least I am assuming this was the issue because after pushing that wire in tight all the other window controls worked again. I am guessing it came loose a while back when I had new speakers installed (at a well known electronics store with the initials BB) because they also managed to break my power locks (which I made them repair). I just never noticed until someone sat in the passenger seat and tried to roll down their window. Anyway, thanks to all who replied and helped me out.
