I got to buy 2 Revell Civics at a hobby shop up in Michigan for $4 each, so i got a HB and a 2 door
Heres the progress
Im using Tamiya Mica Blue on the HB as u can see in the pics, i dont have any of the coupe, but im painting it Gunmetal
There wasnt too much paint in that Tamiya can :disappoin so any thing wrong with the paint is gonna have to stay wrong untill i make an hour long trip and pay just under $6 to get another can of it, which isnt gonna happen...

im using the front piece from the HB for the Coupe.
any questions comments and suggestions welcomed, id type more and get more pics but school and homework is taking up all my time

usually i just use Paint from walmart, like Duplicolor, Plastikote, and testors...
Tamiya is too much for me to pay for a can of paint that small, especially since it barely got 2 coats on that entire car

1990 Honda Acccord 4 door
5 speed
no radio or tape player
the body is in very bad contion
engine has 160,000 on it, and gets around 35 mpg, the thing thats atracting me to it lol
only paying $400 for it, it will need a new clutch in time, i know a guy that can hook me up on that, when i start getting embarased of the body ill have my bro work on it, and since my anniversery is soon, im gonna ask my GF to buy me a good CD player for it.
it will be here some time tonight, im not that good at using a 5 speed yet, so tomorow after school, if i even go, im geting sick, ill be driving it around the neighbor hood to reteach my self. It will be a whil ebefore i have insurance and that good stuff, insurance is gonna be so high, probably around $3000 a year considering i totalled a truck after having my license for 2 months, and had about $50,000 in medical bills...
i have no plans to do any real mods to this car in the future, i just need a beater

i just slid the body on and the front piece to see how it looks, tomorow i should start on the suspension and should at least take some pics for a good lowering how to. and have it posted sooner or later

the hood got messed up in the painting process and i will "try" to put the CF decal on it, if i mess it up, i guess the car will go hoodless

theres a guy with a truck that has air ride on it in my area, on the back it says, the lower i go, the more your mom likes it
i think im gonna get enough stickers to put what my sig says on it.
my family goes up to michigan all the time, my moms chevy truck has to be filled up about 4 or 5 times on the way up, my brothers fixed up accord on air ride had to be filled up 3 times on the way up, this one would only need it once after leaving on a full tank of gas.
I learned how to drive a stick back when i was 13, but since then i havent till today, so besides stoping on a hill ive been doing pretty good, i just need to get a tag, insurance, and ill be able to drive it legally, and find out how big the back seat is :evillol:

How to lower a car, id have some pics with this but with these civic models, you cant really lower them using this process.
Glue THe brake Discs to the wheel.
Dont connect the brake discs to the rest of the suspeion, but instead, glue the wheel to the wheel wale.
Now on most Revell Models, and some of the tamiya models ive made, this works really well, and gives it a really good low look
BUt with this civic you cant rell the difference
Im not good at describing stuff so if it doesnt make sense, ill try to get some pics of.

im not soo technical and picky that every thing i make has to be exactly like the real thing, especilialy if you cant see the difference any way.

08-21-2004, 11:11 PM
its not that i wanted it correct, its the fact that i didnt want my wheels to fall off everytime i picked the car up...gluing them to the wheel wheels isnt exactly the most secure way to do it.

im gonna have to say that its about a 50/50 chance their gonna fall off
either u dont u enough, or you use too much
once you glue the wheels to the wheel well and they dont fall off after a few hours, then it means that theyre probably never gonna come off with out some work, but as always, glue the wheels on the wheel well, at a point when u can rest all four wheels on a level surface with out moving it for about 1 hour
but i wasnt calling you being technical, but more of a large mojority of people on this board that are like that

yea, i understand what you mean. dont worry, im not a big fan of all that technical stuff. i think as long as it looks good in the end, then that works for me. i dont care what i have to do to achieve the look im goin for, im gonna get it. today my civic should be done.

im gonna have to strip the paint on the coupe, while on the other hand the Hatch Back should be finished with a little bit more work.
