Disaster With Clear Coats!

Well i placed SMS Carbon Fibre decal on the hood of my model and used Micro Set & Solution to place the decal. I did two seperate hoods. On one i decided to clear it with Dupli Color and the result was a disaster. So i thought well nothing wrong should happen with Tamiya, WRONG. the same happend when i applied Tamiya clear coat on the other hood.

Does anyone know what happend. Are you not supposed to clear coat a decal after you have used Micro Set & Solution on it? or Did i do something real stupid that i am still unaware of. :screwy:

Here is a picture of how Dupli Color left my Decal.

The picture of the one with Tamiya clear coat came out too dark and all you see is a glare of the lamp from above.

I am working on a 1966 Ford GT40 Le Mans car...I am using the Model Master 2 part Laquer system (base and Clear) I also added the decals to the model and applied them with the micro...(clear solution with blue lettering) stuff smells like vinegar...anyways, i applied with that and when the decals were on i apply more to get in position, then dab with dry paper towel or tissue paper(kleenex) then I let it sit for 2 days...kinda redundent...then I cleared it and no problems. I have cleared cars in the past without letting it sit...disasterous...I think theres a chemical reaction between the two that makes the decals either seperate or turn weird colors.

Use an acrylic clear...and wait at least week for the decal to dry...
